A positive is that Collins will not start unless our 4 center backs are injured or suspended.
How people can keep defending him I don't know.
He's a liability and just because he has the odd good game shouldn't forgive him for the many times he's cost us.
Hopefully Bilic will have learnt that teams will crowd Payet out and we need an alternative. He will also now just play his best available 11.
Bring on Everton a better attitude.

Failed to score for the first time this season...

Impressive?

Keep losing to the shit like Watford and 10th is a realistic position.

Remote? I disagree massively.

Obinna is a versatile player, been used in the place of Obiang and Ogbonna and all the while playing as a second striker in Germany.

Obinna?

Cunning plan

Re: Our first defeat in 8 games
Where we finish is entirely up to the manager .... play our best team - Sakho, Song, Obiang and Obinna and we can be top six.

Play Noble, Collins and Carroll for 90 minutes and we will be lucky to scrape top 8. I groaned when Noble got a 5 year contract, and groaned again when Bilic gave him the captaincy, virtually guaranteeing him every game of the season. A decision as stupid and damaging as any pal act between Allardyce and Nolan.

Quite simply Noble is a championship player at best and a liability in the Premier. He's too slow, too clumsy and has no end product. Thank god Payet is now taking over some of the set pieces.

How this bag of cement gets in the first XI before Kouyote, Obiang, Song and even Poyet, is just bloody maddening. I wish some of the energy and hatred that you all showed toward driving Allardyce and Nolan out, could be spent moving this dead wood, but no, because he's an East End boy - the love-in will continue, and our midfield will be overrun, game after game, after fucking game.

Not a single person associated with the club would be happy with 10th.

Everyone is targeting top 6 and, whilst it's certainly not going to be easy, it's as realistic a prospect as it's been for 18 years.

There are a wide degree of opinions on this site in what counts as a good season this term....some think we can finsh top 2 (WHUDeano) some believe top 4 is do-able. many top 6, and then you have the likes of comma who believe that finishing in the lofty position of 10th is 'fine'

Interesting.

I would be disappointed with any finish under top 8. We have an excellent team, a strong squad, a good manager and the best quality football I have seen at West Ham for 20 years or more.

I think top six should be the goal.

Re: Our first defeat in 8 games
Watford performance and result was a reality check.

I would be happy with a top ten finishing place, especially if we end up with a first time ever positive goal difference too. A gradual improvement and something to build on next season would be fine.

I'd say top 6 is possible

Top 8 more likely

top 10 should be minimum,

We beat Liverpool, Arsenal, man city and Chelsea. How must they have felt losing to us. It hurts when we lose but I have a feeling this is going to be a strange year where anyone has a chance of winning against anyone.

Watford had just come off the back of beating Stoke 2-0 away from home which is historically a hard place to go, I still believe we are a top 6 side minimum this year if we keep Sakho, payet, lanzini, Reid and kouyate fit

Re: Our first defeat in 8 games
One positive - honest reactions from Bilic and Noble saying we didn't deserve it, not like the bullshit excuses from last season.

As long as they don't have to be honest about crap performances TOO often................

If we're going to drop points it's actually better to do so against the teams with a better than average chance of being relegated - points acquired by a relegated team are lost forever.

Anywhere in the top ten will be a successful season in my opinion. The quality of football is also a bonus worth having.

Well actually, I am not comfortable with any loss.....Just that I meant that I am sure Bilic will use it to make us better.
